The eldest of our grandchildren is 11 today so I call
him this morning. During breakfast, we witness the eternal spectacle of anchors
getting tangled up, but everything works out and the boats leave. I am working
on the day before yesterday blog to put the photos. Then we ride to Episcopi, a
pleasant little road, mostly shaded. We stop at the large beach north of the
port and swim, it's chilly, 18 ⁰. We leave and I often stop to take pictures of
flowers, it's amazing how many there are. We had thought of having lunch at
Episcopi but the tavern is going to open in five days. So we eat our almonds
and drink our water. Back to Hera II and good late lunch outside but
stillestund inside, it is too hot outside. The port is now almost empty,
between those who left this morning and those who will arrive later. Jens pulls
out the whole front anchor chain and measures it, I do the blog. I'm having
trouble posting the last photos. Swimming at the beach of the mill, closer than
the large beach and stonier. On returning, we speak with a Norwegian couple on
the yacht Nanna. They know Hera II well, they have met her often, and they too
are part of a group of seven people who share Nanna. We go up to dinner in the
cafeteria in the village and take kebabs. The Norwegian couple pass by (I'm
sorry but I forgot their names) and we have a drink together, but they go down
to have dinner at George's.
