Très bien dormi. Bon petit-déjeuner avec pain frais et beurre. Jens va
encore faire des courses et j’envoie quelques cartes postales, puis nous levons
l’ancre … qui remonte en même temps l’ancre du voisin ! Mais Jens a un
crochet magique qui résout le problème assez rapidement. Hera II est très près
des autres bateaux et nous avons de nombreux spectateurs qui semblent un peu
inquiet. Jens reste d’un calme olympien et je l’admire. J’en connais d’autres
qui ne resteraient pas aussi calmes … Une fois l’autre ancre décrochée, nous
partons au moteur pour aller passer le pont flottant à Lefkas à midi.. Nous ne
sommes pas les seuls, la saison a commencé. Nous avons envie d’ancrer mais il
faut trouver une place bien protégée, un coup de vent de l’Est est annoncé pour
cette nuit. Nous allons à Varko, une jolie baie pas très loin de la sortie du
canal de Lefkas. En allant ancrer dans le coin Est de la baie nous serons
protégés par le promontoire (voir carte). Nous ancrons, nous baignons du
bateau, l’eau est à 24⁰. Trois autres bateaux viennent ancrer dans la même
partie de la baie. Nous déjeunons et ensuite bricolage pour Jens et blog pour
moi, mais je ne peux pas publier les photos, internet est trop faible. Le vent
commence à souffler dans l’après-midi, irrégulier en force et en direction.
Baignade numéro deux dans l’après-midi et nous restons au bateau. Jens fait le
diner et soirée tranquille. Quand nous nous couchons le vent est assez fort,
mais ça va. Jens a mis toute la chaine, le plus de chaine le plus sûr et nous
avons « anchor watch », l’alarme qui sonne si nous nous éloignons
trop du point d’ancrage.
Wednesday 18.05.2022
We slept very well. Good breakfast with fresh bread
and butter. Jens goes shopping again and I send a few postcards, then we weigh
anchor … which raises the neighbour's anchor too! But Jens has a magic hook
that solves the problem pretty quickly. Hera II is very close to the other
boats and we have many spectators who seem a little worried. Jens remains
incredibly calm and I admire him. I know others who would not stay so calm…
Once the other anchor is unhooked, we set off under motor to cross the flotting
bridge in Lefkas at noon. We are not the only ones, the season has started. We
want to anchor but we have to find a well protected place, an eastern gale is
announced for this night. We go to Varko, a pretty bay not far from the end of
the Lefkas canal. By going to anchor in the eastern corner of the bay we will
be protected by the promontory (see map). We anchor, we bathe from the boat,
the water is at 24⁰. Three other boats come to anchor in the same part of the
bay. We have lunch and then DIY for Jens and blog for me, but I can't publish
the pictures, internet is too weak. The wind begins to blow in the afternoon,
irregular in strength and direction. Swim number two in the afternoon and we
stay at the boat. Jens makes dinner and we have a quiet evening. When we go to
bed the wind is quite strong, but that's fine. Jens has put on all the chain,
the more chain the safer and we have the “anchor watch”, the alarm that sounds
if we are drifting too far from the anchor point.
