C’est aujourd’hui qu’Hera II est mise à l’eau. A 8 h 30, la remorque arrive poussée par un gros tracteur. Tout se passe bien. Un homme marche vers nous et quuand il est plus près nous le reconnaissons : Søren, un Danois que nous avions rencontré la première fois à Cascais au Portugal en 2016 et retrouvé ici en octobre l’année dernière. Nous parlons de diner ensemble ce soir. La remorque est conduite sous la grue, des sangles passées sous la coque et la grue dépose doucement Hera II dans l’eau. So far, so good … Mais quand Jens veut démarrer, rien ne se passe, le démarreur ne marche pas. Aidés du personnel de la marina et de voisins, nous faisons pivoter Hera II autour du coin du ponton. Un catamaran qui est à ce ponton recule un peu pour nous faire de la place et nous l’amarrons. Je vais me promener le long de la petite route qui arrive à la marina. Elle est bordée de « mauvaises » herbes et de fleurs sauvages. J’utilise PlantNet pour les identifier et « jeg koser meg » (j’ai du bon temps). Jens regarde le démarreur, essaye mais rien. La marina téléphone à deux électriciens qui arrivent rapidement. Ils démontent le démarreur et voient tout de suite un peu de rouille sur un relais. En 20 minutes le truc est nettoyé, remonté et marche. Ouf ! Le plan est que je vais en voiture à Preveza et Jens en bateau. Je pensais arriver avant lui mais pas du tout : il met 6 minutes et moi 20. Je stationne la voiture et me dépêche vers le quai. Jens est là à faire des ronds dans l’eau. Il s’approche du quai, je monte à bord et nous trouvons une des dernières places libre. Accostage sans problèmes et bon jus d’orange pour fêter ça. Nous installons le foc. Baignade à la plage de Miticas, c’est vraiment bien. Puis blog pour moi et courses pour Jens. Un autre Danois, ami de Søren, qui est au quai ici en ville vient voir Jens : pourrions-nous l’emmener en voiture quand nous allons diner tous ensemble ? Bien sûr. Donc à 7 h 45, nous partons tous les trois en voiture retrouver Søren, Astrid sa femme, HP et Anna qui arrivent juste du Danemark et le gars seul Nerli. Nous avions fait connaissance de HP et Anna en octobre 2021. Nous sommes donc sept. Tous ont beaucoup navigué mais nous ressemblons plus à de bons grands-pères et grands-mères qu’à de hardis navigateurs. Encore une soirée sympathique.

« Hurrah for 17.May! »
Hera II is launched today. At 8:30 a.m., the trailer
arrived pushed by a large tractor. Everything is going well. A man walks
towards us and when he is closer we recognize him: Søren, a Dane whom we first
met in Cascais in Portugal in 2016 and met here again in October last year.
We're talking about having dinner together tonight. The trailer is driven under
the crane, straps passed under the hull and the crane gently lowers Hera II
into the water. So far, so good… But when Jens wants to start, nothing happens,
the starter doesn’t work. Helped by marina staff and neighbors, we swing Hera
II around the corner of the pontoon. A catamaran that is at this pontoon backs
up a little to make room for us and we moor her. I go for walk along the small
road that arrives at the marina. It is lined with weeds and wildflowers. I use
PlantNet to identify them and "jeg koser meg" (I'm having a good
time). Jens looks at the starter, tries but nothing. The marina calls two
electricians who arrive quickly. They dismantle the starter and immediately see
a little rust on a relay. In 20 minutes the thing is cleaned, reassembled and
running. Phew! The plan is that I drive to Preveza and Jens goes by boat. I
thought I would arrive before him but not at all: he takes 6 minutes and I 20.
I park the car and hurry to the quay. Jens is there making circles in the
water. He approaches the quay, I board and we find one of the last free places.
Docking without problems and good orange juice to celebrate. We install the
jib. Swimming at Miticas beach, it is really nice. Then blog for me and
shopping for Jens. Another Dane, friend of Søren, who is at the quay here in
town comes to see Jens: could we take him by car when we go to dinner together?
Sure. So at 7:45 a.m., the three of us leave by car to meet Søren, Astrid his
wife, HP and Anna who have just arrived from Denmark and the single guy Nerli.
We met HP and Anna in October 2021. There are therefore seven of us. All have
sailed a lot, but we look more like good grandfathers and grandmothers than
hardy sailors. Another pleasant evening.
